Pared Del Lavaor:
Small crag, with a lot of choice to the first bolt(s) but good rock after that. About 27 routes put up, first in 1990. Visible from the main street in El Berro. Walk down the hill from the bar in the center of town and look to your right. There is a small street (follow signs for the path GR-252) accessible by foot only that goes directly to the crag about 2 minutes walking. You can't miss it.

Climbing on the Sierra Espuna.

rock3.jpg

Perhaps the best kept secret in Spain, Sierra Espuņa is a quiet valley with thousands of sport and trad climbs at all levels, crag and multi-pitch, and everything from caves and overhangs to slabs. Sport climbs are intelligently bolted and routes are well thought out. Most of the climbing is limestone, though there is an aggregate crag to be found behind the Archeological museum in Alhama.

Having a car is highly advisable as most of the climbs already involve a 45 minute to 1 hour approach after driving to a hiking trail head. It is well worth the hike. The crags are quiet and climbing is possible well into the winter, though the nights can be windy and cold.

We can only offer accommodation and advise for climbers,
(we have Espuna climbing guide books available to hotel guests) and we always happy to help and point you in the right direction.
